Job Description
Save the Children (SC) has an opening for the following Re-Advertised position.  If you are interested to join our team, please review below position specification and requirement to help you make a decision 
 Job Title: Finance Officer
Place of Work:  Konso
 Monthly Salary in ETB
   
As per the organization scale
No. of Positions: one
 Length of Contract:  one year
                     
    Ensure that all finance undertakings are done as per the finance policy and procedural of SC.
    Apply all regulations and laws and any statutory requirements in computation of payment.

    Responsible for review of Field & Satellite office finance document and give comment & feedback to all AFOs.

    Ensure that any approved payment should be specified the budget line which will help for charge on and coding

    Ensure that any charge and coding should be according to SC chart of account.
    Review field offices balance sheet accounts critically and makes necessary correction before end of each month.
    Ensure all transaction are encoded to GLACOS and coding are checked before posted to Agresso.
    Ensure financial data posted in to Agresso on daily basis and review documents before posting.

    Follow up all documents are cancelled with PAID staff.

    Follow up staff advance list is updated and communicate to AFOs to advise their staff to settle advance on time.
    Advise Satellite office finance team to settle Tax and pension contribution is timely paid to tax authority
    on monthly basis.
    Review field and Satellite office financial documents and give review feedback for timely correction.
    Ensure offices under Hawassa are using standard SCI financial formats and policies
    Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

    First Degree in Accounting/Financial management

    2 years for Bachelor Degree holder preferably with NGO

    Broad understanding programs management and operations

    Ability to work independently and take personal initiative

    Excellent written and spoken English language skills

    Strong supervisory management skill
    Strong interpersonal skills

    Excellent computer skills in Microsoft office Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. and knowledge of financial management software like Agresso, Sun system will be an asset
