Position: Child & Youth Councelor
No. Required: One
Qualification: B.Sc. in Psychology or related field
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years and above experience dealing with children of various age groups.
Duty Station: Illubabor-Mettu, AbdiiBorii Children’s Home
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Seeks to understand the unique attributes and abilities of children.
Coaches the children psychologically to possess self-confidence to be able to tackle various challenges.
Enhances among others a positive link between mothers and children in the Home.
Plans and implements tutorial classes.
Provides sustainable assistance to mothers, food committee members and chefs.
Closely monitors the education of the children.
Identifies and provides counseling for high risk students and closely follows up their activities.
Develops family outreach programs for students and various surroundings outside their home.
Coaches the children/youth to have proper manners.
Guides the youth psychologically to be ready when they leave the Home.
Language: A good command of spoken and written English.
Salary: Negotiable
Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract
