Job Description
Job Purpose: The cost accountant position will be key in the implementation and maintenance of a more accurate cost accounting system tracing costs back to underlying activities and margin analysis by product.
Job Duties:
Assist in ledger closing, prepare journal entries related to inventory, raw material purchases and labor
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
Review and strengthen controls around factory financial processes
Perform physical inventory counts and periodic reconciliation with book inventory
Perform margin analysis by product
Providing management with reports comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products
Job Requirements
2+ years working experience as a cost accountant in the manufacturing industry
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Working experience of Peachtree Acctg software required
Ability to work with various departments
