We seek to recruit a Finance Officer for Ethiopia Country Program Office based in Addis Ababa. The Finance Officer will be responsible for providing finance and administrative support o the Country Program, reviewing all disbursement and collection requests and preparing collection and disbursement documents accordingly, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly documented, reviewed, authorized and recorded accurately s/he will report to the Country office Finance.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

    Reviewing all disbursement and collection requests and preparing collection and disbursement documents accordingly.
    Encoding data into QuickBooks on a timely basis.
    Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly documented, reviewed, authorized and recorded accurately.
    Preparing and settling income tax, withholding tax, and social security and other statutory obligations on monthly basis.
    Supporting preparation of monthly financial reports and budgets.
    Reviewing petty cash payment requests and reconciling funds.
    Support during internal and external audits by availing documents, information and responses.
    Updating the fixed asset register, conducting bi-annual count and preparing reports.
    Ensuring availability of financial documents, like check stub, cash collection, withholding tax and petty cash receipt, etc. at all times;
    Serving as primary liaison for PATH banks accounts.
    Preparing quarterly international travel report to be submitted to HQ.

Required Skills

    Strong analytic and problem handling/solving skills.
    Excellent computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook and Ability to work with QuickBooks or other financial software.
    Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
    Demonstrated excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
    Sound knowledge on donor rules and regulation is preferred.
    Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Amharic and English.
    Ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with colleagues and partners.

Required Experience

BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field of study, At least 5 years relevant experience, 3 of which should have been with International NGOs, Familiarity with and experience in implementing local financial rules and regulations, systems, and procedures preferably with NGO setting.
