Job Description:
The Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA) and Child Survival Collaboration and Resource Group Polio Project (CGPP) support and coordinate efforts of PVO’s INGO’s operating in Ethiopia on polio eradication initiative. The project is being implemented in Oromia, Benshangul Gumuz, Gambella, Somali, SNNPR and Afar regional states.
CCRDA/CGPP would like to invite applicants for the following position.
Position: Program Officer
Number required: one (1)
Reports to: CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project Director
Preferred Qualifications/Experiences:
Postgraduate degree in public health or other related field, preferably, MPH or MSC
Minimum five years Experience in immunization and disease surveillance
NGOs experience is an advantage
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking in English and reading, speaking and writing Somali language is an advantage
Strong knowledge and skills in computer applications
Good interpersonal skill
Job Summary:
The overall responsibility of the incumbent includes assisting CCRDA/ CORE Group Polio Project Director in preparing and appraising proposals, organizing trainings, consultative meetings and other forums, conducting supportive supervision and all other duties and responsibilities.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
Involve and assist in formulating project proposals for resource mobilization as appropriate to the objective and funding nature of CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project,
Conduct pre-funding assessment and appraise technical and financial aspect of the proposals submitted by Project Partner,
Facilitate and ensure timely releasing of the approved funds to partner organizations,
Provide technical support, guidance and backstopping service to augment the capacity of partners including woreda health offices on immunization, surveillance and other related fields,
Conduct regular supportive supervision in the project areas at partner organizations field offices, woreda health offices, health facilities and communities level,
Assist partners to improve documentation system at all levels
Attend review meetings organized at woreda and community level and provide the necessary support in documentation, reporting, refresher training, etc
Provide feedback for relevant stakeholders on the status of the project
Involve and assist in preparation and coordination of training programs, consultative and review meetings and in the
Participate in the development and distribution of reference & training manuals, IEC/BCC materials and other documents and conduct follow up on the status of utilization
Participate and provide the required assistance during NIDs/ SNIDs
Brief regularly about the status of the project and submit written reports to CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project Director,
Represent CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project in different forums when required,
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities requested by the CCRDNCORE Group Polio Project Director.
Terms of Employment: One year contract with possible extension
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the project areas
Salary: Negotiable
