Job Summary:
IRC is seeking for a Marketing Specialist for the five-year, $24 million USAID-funded TRANSFORM: WASH activity. This project will encompass a set of innovative and strategic interventions targeting actions at different scales, with an overall goal of reducing under-five mortality, through increased use of WASH products and services to be achieved via the four interrelated objectives: 1) Increased WASH governance and management capacity at the sub-national level; 2) Increased demand for low- cost quality WASH products and services, with a focus on sanitation; 3) Increased supply for low-cost quality WASH products and services, with a focus on sanitation; 4) Increased knowledge base to bring WASH innovations to scale.
The Marketing Specialist will work under the direction of the COP and will be responsible for managing the household and private sector marketing activities. S/he will be responsible for overseeing activities with health extension workers, manufacturers and local providers of WASH products and services to build out supply chains for low-cost WASH products and services.
This position is contingent on the IRC being awarded funding and is anticipated to begin in September 2016.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Have at least ten years of experience in marketing, private sector development or behavior change especially within the Ethiopian context.
Experienced with marketing campaigns, market analyses and developing market strategies
Strong English communication skills, both interpersonal and written
Working experience in developing countries; experience in Ethiopia preferred
Oversees/international experience is a plus.
Proven management skills.
Computer literate.
Project management experience.
Excellent representational skills.
Effective communication, inter-personal, and diplomacy skills.
Ability to work well and adapt under pressure, and willingness to work long work hours as needed.
Ability to independently organize work and prioritize tasks.
Self-motivated, honest, highly responsible, and punctual.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
At least a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Management, Economics, Finance or Marketing
