Job Description:


    Works in different television, film, documentary and video productions to capture moving images in the smoothest way.
    Operates or uses different video cameras to achieve varying visual effects.
    Good practical skills and knowledge of camera equipment.
    Uses their technical skills and cinematic nous to realize the creative vision of the director.
    Are fairly straightforward; they come to the set, whether it’s in a studio or on location, and setup the camera(s) that will be used to the greatest effect for the specific scenes.
    Work alongside the director in order to block the scene effectively and determine which camera moves are required.
    Prior to the actual filming, the camera operator will have become acquainted with the script and will have meticulously planned and practiced each and every camera move.
    When it comes to shooting, time is always of the essence. Consequently, in order to save time, they will need to know each scene like the back of their hand.
    When it’s crunch time, camera operators perform the actual camera moves, including dolly shots, pans, tilts and other complicated camera movements.
Job Requirements:
Typical Responsibilities: The work may vary depending on the actual role and the size and type of production. In general, however, tasks carried out by a cameraman include:
    Set up and position camera equipment
    Choose the most suitable lenses and camera angles
    Plan and rehearse shots
    Follow camera script and take cues from the director or floor manager if in a TV studio
    Solve any practical or technical problems that pop up
    Work closely with other technical departments such as lighting and sound
    Sort out enquiries and paperwork; attend production meetings; keep track of timing during a program; set up pre-recorded material in the studio gallery; make schedules, shot lists and other paperwork
Qualification
     Diploma/certificate in camera operator and editing from recognized college or institution.
Experience: SHFC values technical skills and practical experience, mature attitude in this field of work. So, minimum of two years’ experience is expected.
